Screening & Early Detection

NC BCCCP

  • Provides free or low-cost breast and cervical cancer screenings and follow-up care to eligible women in North Carolina.

  • Eligibility includes women who:

    • Are uninsured or underinsured

    • Do not have Medicare Part B or Medicaid

    • Are 40–64 for breast screening and 21–64 for cervical screening

    • Have a household income at or below 250% of the federal poverty level

Financial Assistance

Pretty in Pink Foundation

  • Assists uninsured and underinsured breast cancer patients in North Carolina with treatment costs, co-pays, and deductibles.

  • Eligibility includes:

    • Living in NC

    • U.S. citizenship

    • Being in active treatment

    • Household income ≤ 250% federal poverty level

Helene Foundation

  • Supports mothers in active cancer treatment in the Triangle area with:

    • Delivered family meals

    • Housecleaning

    • Childcare

    • Tutoring for children

    • Transportation assistance

    • Coverage of children’s activity costs

MED Stay

  • A hotel reservation service offering discounted lodging for medical patients visiting UNC Hospital or Duke Hospital.

Susan G. Komen – Research Triangle

  • Offers education, screening and diagnostics, a helpline, support groups, and financial assistance grants.

  • Grants of $500 can be used for essentials like rent, utilities, food, transportation, childcare, or medical needs.

  • Eligibility includes:

    • Active treatment or living with metastatic breast cancer diagnosed within the last 2 years

    • Living in the U.S. or a U.S. territory

    • Household income ≤ 300% Federal poverty level

    • One-on-one mentoring

    • Support groups
